Brooklyn Children's Theatre @ PS 179

  • BCT @ PS 179

    November 2018 - March 2019

BCT at PS 179 is supported by public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council. The Community After School Adventures (CASA) grant was designated to BCT at PS 179 through Council Member Brad Lander. Thank you to DCA and Brad Lander for allowing us to create musical theatre with the children at PS 179!

This past season, we had 20 students  in our Production A class (1st–3rd grade), 20 students in our Production B class (3rd – 5th grade), and 20 students in our Technical Theatre class (3rd–5th grade). The production classes performed two original musicals: an adaptation of The Elves and the Shoemakers (Production A) and Grief at the Reef. (Production B). The Technical Theatre class designed and constructed beautiful set pieces, props, costumes, and a backdrop!
