Brooklyn Children's Theatre @ PS 179

  • BCT @ PS 179

    Winter 2016 - Spring 2017
  • BCT @ 179 - Classes

BCT at PS 179 is supported by public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council. The Community After School Adventures (CASA) grant was designated to BCT at PS 179 through Council Member Brad Lander. Thank you to DCA and Brad Lander for allowing us to create musical theatre with the children at PS 179!

PLEASE NOTE: This program is only open to students who attend PS 179.

    This past season,

We had 16 students and 2 fifth grade interns in our Production A class (1st – 2nd grade), 21 students and one sixth grade intern (and former PS 179 student) in our Production B class (3rd – 5th grade), and 19 students in our Technical Theatre class (3rd – 5th grade). The production classes performed original musical adaptations of two great stories: The Kids Who Cried Wolf (Production A) and Race Across The River (Production B). The Technical Theatre class designed and constructed set pieces, props, costumes, and the backdrops for both shows, and some members appeared on stage during the performances!
